(An excerpt from a comedic list I wrote. The piece I am submitting today is going to be three pages long. Tell me what you think.)

Near the end of my time at McDonalds, I started taking large increments off, because it was so boring. Before that I had worked almost every day, and it was like a game to me to try to get as much overtime as possible, which the head manager tried to prevent but was inevitable. (At a certain point I was forbidden to work any longer, but somehow I would find a way, insinuating myself in, sneakily getting extras hours, always needed and the bosses reluctant to let me go- at the last moment that would shatter and beg me to stay; I would manipulate and work against her, asking behind her back if people wanted to switch schedules, always volunteering) But this was not possible when I was in vacation mode-with all my absences and sick days- meaning there was no longer any fun, no longer any chance to be strategic and mathematical. Fortunately however, there was a kind of replacement, a substitute that I discovered- on weeks that I worked every day I had the overtime scheme and on weeks that I didn't, I had the coupon scheme; either way things were kept interesting. I would accept it was impossible to reach the limit, if I had taken too many days off, and move on; instead for that pay period I would work on getting free stuff- if a boss called me in I wouldn't go to get overtime- I would complain, play hard to get, and say I didn't feel like it, I didn't have to, and I wasn't going to, until they bribed me with extra meals and discounts. So either way I had something to collect.
