Whats the point of reading (i mean this in so far as what am i supposed to get out of it if im doing it correctly, not 'should i be doing it')?
Am i supposed to just be amused at the story or logic of what im reading then forget it
Am i supposed to etch it into my mind forever? How do i even do thst? Make notes whilst reading?
I've read 1000s of pages of philosophical works, but i can't say i remember every single argument though i understood and followed them whilst my eyes were staring at the page and for a few minutes afterwards. Some i could parphrase but others i probably wouldn't be able to give you a reliable account of after having read it a few days ago.
