Finished the second book already. It was alright. The book didn't explore the magic any more than the first book. With no new information, and the author not even bothering to reiterate old information, it feels like magic was even less important to the plot this time. I have to say, it's not feeling so fantastical this time around. But the plot was still intriguing, so I enjoyed it.

I really hoped the cuckold stuff would be over with. But I've already begun the third book. And in the first chapter, there's a vague statement that suggests Otah got cucked again by his own guard captain. I'm very confused, because the way it was described was that Otah and the captain got in a fight? Maybe??? And Otah either spared the man, or the captain spared Otah. But like, the decision to spare was his wife's doing? Again, it was really too vague to attempt to solve it now. It will probably come up again later in the book. But I'm starting to get uncomfortable with all this cuck shit.
