Person you're replying to here. How do you cope with the fact that the world is 'broken' (I'm probably the one who's broken) and very far from your ideals? I know very logically that I should move on and take from it whatever I can, but emotionally I keep coming back to it.

Existential crisis is fucking stupid but I think this is what did Nietzsche in - being unable to let go of your ideals and sense of meaning. My Taoism didn't help. I'm not ready for Buddhism

How does /lit/ feel about the realisation that they've achieved nothing of worth? Not just in regards to writing, but in general? We spend all of our time reading about what other people have done, or pursuing instant pleasure via the internet and other activities that we've never put in the discipline to achieve anything great?

When somebody asks what you're good at, what do you reply? Reading?
