To any fellow writers of /lit/ how do you deal with people from your life - family or friends - asking you about what you're writing?

I ask as I am quite secretive about it, I never really want anyone to read what I've written as I always feel disappointed by it or worried about others reading it and that despite how much I write I am quite shit. It's getting tough now as I am moving in with my girlfriend and she is curious to know about it, I can't exactly shut her out but don't want to lose credibility.

Is anyone else quite secretive about their work or do they enjoy sharing it with people they know?

I have a question of sexual semantics for you

I am British and when it comes to sex I have an issue when referring to the woman's primary sexual organ. To say 'pussy' is to me American, out-of-place and a little crass; but to say 'vagina' is a little cold and does not seem sexual to me. What other words could I use?

I'm trying to find a book with the letter Z appearing exactly fourteen times in it.

Can anyone help?
