Whether you like it or not, there’s merit in postmodern literature, and later generations will see it as creating the classics of our day. Writers like Nabokov and Pynchon didn’t write anything of worth for you? They and other postmodern writers are memed (definitely too much, I admit — this board is super heavy on 20th-and-21st-century) on this board so hard because they’re some of the best modern writers. Lolita is a modern classic. Gravity’s Rainbow is a modern classic. Philip Roth was a great modern writer if you can’t handle the postmodern bants.
