Not necessarily for the hell of it, but the Cynics viewed the rough and simple feral life as it's own reward and a superior way to live.

OP's tumblr copy pasta refers to nihilism in the Nietzschean sense, like Christianity is nihilistic. Nietzsche accuses Christianity of dismissing life in favour of an imagined afterlife, in favour of a fiction. Therefore Christianity detracts value from life by seducing people into sacrificing it to nothingness.

I think his post does have an interesting point, although Nietzsche was also passionate about working towards excellence and probably wouldn't wholly agree with what OP posted. I do think that Nietzsche would agree that our particular flavour of progress is last man tier bullshit. And Nietzsche with his amor fati would certainly appreciate an outlook that takes life just as it is without needing to change it according to ones ideals first. In fact he greatly admired the Cynics and said of them:

"It is obvious that the Cynic clings to life more than the other philosophers: ‘the shortest way to happiness’ is nothing but the love of life in itself and complete needlessness with reference to all other goods."

This needlessness is the very proof of a life affirming attitude.

My sexual desire is no burden at all. When I get the urge I only have to flick my wrist and I get pleasure with no downsides. When a woman happens to be up for it I get even more pleasure.

The urge for sex is like the urge for food would be if you could magically conjure up a nice, simple, healthy fulfilling meal whenever you like.

It's old fashioned village mentality and social control. It's the normal way of doing things, we've just lost it for a short while due to increasing complexity and growth. Now the internet is making us all accountable again.

It's quite inconvenient if you're a scheming little bastard, but on the other hand it's nice as well. Makes people put their money where their mouth is. Which in turn makes nonconformism be a serious commitment again, instead of just a posture.

Yes. Get on the misery train and ride it to the end.

A young man contemplating marriage sought advice from Diogenes. "Should I marry?"

"Marriage is too soon for a young man"

"Would you have me wait then until I am old."

"Oh no, Marriage is far too late for an old man."

"What am I to do then? I love the girl."

"Love is a luxury no one can afford. It is for those who have nothing better to do."

"What should we be doing then?"

"To seek freedom. But it is not possible to be free if you have a wife and children."

"But having a wife and family is so agreeable."

"Then you see the problem, young man. Freedom would not be so difficult to attain were prison not so sweet."

"You mean to be free is to be alone?"

"We come into the world alone and we die alone. Why, in life, should we be any less alone?"

"To live, then, is terrible."

"No, not to live, but to live in chains."
