Questions about New Sincerity.

Is this a real thing or is it just something to blog about? What are actual examples of it? Is it a reaction to jaded anti-hero stories and deconstruction? Is it the result of universities churning out critics instead of writers who unironically pursue goodness?

Postmodern fiction, and postmodernism as a whole, has collapsed in on itself. The aspects of the literary movement in its early stages (defamiliarization, fragmentation, decentering, etc.) the first flickering of which can be seen in Nabokov and Camus and then in Gaddis, Pynchon and Barth, were extended and inevitably re-purposed into representation of the human psyche by Delillo, Markson, DFW, Calvino forcing the reader to enact the anxious self-conscious refractive thinking in the text. However, the chaos of the movement, the hyper-awareness and consequential paralysis can only be transcended romantically, un-ironically, sincerely. Hence New Sincerity, the true expression of the new modern fiction, where all the expressive powers of postmodernism can be harnessed for a truth created in the face of certain ridicule and resentment. New Sincerity is religious by nature, it is the logical extension of the spiritualism found in late postmodernism, and, once realized, is paradoxically anticipated by every author named above in varying degrees.
