I'm an Ausfag It's been 8 years since I finished school and looking back we read such crap. Speaking with people from other schools in Australia they also read similar crap.
At my school we read one (1) Shakespeare play which was Othello, Catcher in the Rye, Pygmalion and a bunch of really bad and irrelevant Australian poets who nobody has heard of even in Australia. Just because we had to read "Australian literature", whatever that is.
