Just finished the trilogy of Napoleonic disasters pic'd begins and am now reading Tom Pocock's The Terror before Trafalgar- I rec them all. The English translations of the first three are good and if I'm not mistaken the first of the series (pic'd) has even been converted into a graphic novel. Over 40,000 dead in less than 48 hours, but Aspern\Essling (battle of) did set the stage for Wagram.. The second of the Trilogy deals with the imperial French retreat from Moscow- The Retreat. The third book- Exile- deals with Napoleon's time at Elba.
