Which short story from Dubliners should I reread? I’m bored.

Give me more comfy literature about regular people just being regular in regular situations.

Why does Joyce almost only use parenthetical commas? My native language uses a lot of commas, so, for me, the way Joyce writes sentences without commas makes it harder to read.

>When we returned to the street light from the kitchen windows had filled the areas.

This seems needlessly clunky to me. Maybe it's just that I'm not familiar enough with the English language.

>When we returned to the street, light from the kitchen windows had filled the areas.

This would have been much nicer. Would it be gramatically wrong?
