What's the worst fantasy writer you've read?

I tried Salvatore and he's so fucking bad, there's being cliche and then there's this shit

>backstory of the dwarf character is literally Thorin from Hobbit

Alright /lit/, another day another anon with less than 15 total books read asking for advice.

I just read the crystal shard, and it was strictly "meh/OK", I've read through the whole story but I don't think I'll bother reading the rest of the trilogy unless they are SUBSTANTIALLY better than the first one. (reading some previews about how Wulfgar becomes a bar bouncer and some other shit, I don't fucking think so).

My question is, what are my other options in terms of good fantasy novels that will ease me into reading more, besides LotR? Is the Dragonlance series any better?
