I feel like existence itself is inherently unsatisfactory. Ive been depressed for years, and recently my new shrink asked "what would it make to make you happy", and i couldn't answer. Even if God came down from Heaven and gave me anything i wanted or any powers i wanted, or he were to create a Utopia, or were to put me back in time to do things differently, it wouldn't matter, i would never be happy. I feel trapped in a prison without any walls. It all just feels pointless.

As far as biology goes, doing a PhD mostly means youre gonna do academic work. As weird as it sounds, being too academic just makes you unattractive for any business jobs.
But life sciences PhD's are horrible; theyre long (bout 5 years), pay is shit, usually involve long hours, and worst of all, youre dependent on biological systems to do what you want to do, which is a huge risk. Ive known people that spent years on making an antibody that wont work. Ive had zebrafish that mysteriously refuse to breed for months (turns out a related institute changed some tubes to copper tubes which interfered with zebrafish reproduction). Ive had cell lines do one thing in one experiment only to never work again, etc.
In academia, this can completely fuck you over as lack of publishing is a death sentence, while in industry, its possible to have a great career in (for example) pharmacology without ever producing a working drug.

Whenever i ask ACAB types for what they would suggest we do different, there really are three possibilities:

1. They dont know because theyre stupid and myopic
2.They want the police, but theyll call it something like the people's police and pretend its totally different
3. They want the equivalent of lynch mobs.

I read countless pages on the warhammer 40k wiki.
I find warhammer 40k more interesting than most books i've read

I'm really bothered that this is the reality. If I write I don't aim to become a pseudo-celeb like GRRM or John Green but the absence of a numerous community for higher-minded lit will render works with premodern themes obscure or even abortive.

Might have to shill on /lit/ for my kino books
