They both acknowledge the superiority of an inhuman and amoral master manipulator as the protagonist. Only by removing emotion and morality can the underlying true nature of man and society be revealed. And only a truly uncommon man can be justified to be capable of changing the world to suit his purposes.
Really they're almost the same story, and have very similar philosophical worldviews. They're even both semi-permanently unfinished.
It would be very surprising if anyone enjoyed one without also thinking highly of the other.
