Are there any books that will help me understand Hegel's philosophy without actually having to read Hegel directly? I'm trying to read Bataille's Summa Atheologica and am struggling to understand it because it is heavily influenced by Hegel and I barely know anything about Hegel besides the fact that he is notoriously hard to read. I normally don't have a problem with reading an author I'm not personally interested in but were influential to writers I am actually interested in, but I'd rather slit my wrists with a rusty butter knife than try to read a writer as difficult as Hegel when I'm not even interested in them in and of themselves

>Did you see that apparition Herr Hegel?
>I did. Very strange. Almost as if it were a being-out-of-itself!
>A spirit?
>Yes, what a strange phenomenon. What is the study of phenomenons called again?
>Phenomenology Herr Hegel?
>Yes, we are truly about to engage in a The Phenomenology of Spirit.
Too kino for this mortal realm.
