That's understandable, he probably wouldn't if he was alive anyways. It is okay to distance yourself from authors that make you feel uncomfortable or convey an idea that you can't relate to. Personally I find his world-view condemnable, but his art is really something. Not looking for skeletons, only art.

I'm soon going to try to read Gravity's Rainbow for the first time, and I want to try to annotate/keep notes while I read so I don't get too lost (list of characters, episode summaries, etc etc)
What are some tips for annotating/note taking while you read? I never really annotate or take notes when I read usually but I feel as though it may be necessary for GR.

If the author is dead I "pirate," if the author is alive I just send them an email and get whatever book I want for free. If they're alive but don't respond to my emails, I get their book from the library or just read the summary on wikipedia.
