I wonder if that's the problem I had with it.

It's on King's reading list so I gave it a go and ... meh. Gave up about 1/3rd of the way in.

That, plus, I discovered Pynchon.

Can we have a Silmarillion thread?
I loved this book, because of its harmonic style mixed to a beautiful mazy plot.
I think that, even if it's not an ordinary book, not even a "real novel", it can give beautiful feels and put the reader in the middle of the story itself.

Hey, /lit/.

A few months ago I finished reading Lord of the Rings, and today when I went to the local used books store, I saw a copy of Children of Hurin, The Silmarillion and The Legend of Sigurd & Gudrun and went ahead and bought them.

In which order should I read them?
