This is the worst book I've ever read.
Why is this crap so overrated?

I’m making my way through Murakami’s works and just finished pic related. This was my second time reading it, first was probably around 10 years ago. First time through I loved it even though I was a little depressed by it, this time wasn’t nearly as enjoyable. I’d rank it below A Wild Sheep Chase and Hard Boiled Wonderland.
What did you think about it /lit/?

Surprisingly Norwegian Wood was what helped me. I grew up with a single mother so I never saw how people speak and court each other. Seeing Toru flirt with Midori throughout the book and understanding what was going through both of their heads was a big help to me personally. Dale Carnegie's How to Win Friends and Influence People was also beneficial for general conversation.

Any reason why they aren't more books like this? It feels like I have to go into eroge/visual novels to find stories like this.
