Any books like this that have the main character speaking French and using colloquial's every other line? Is Pale Fire like this? I found it irritable at first but when the more I got into it the more I realized the different feelings/meanings the French words Humbert uses evoke; especially when he was talking the Harlot/Hooker in a flashback of his. Made the scene have a genuine European feel.

It starts off great, but it completely deflates in the second half and I fucking hate how one in three sentences is in fucking French.

No one told me about the decline in quality after Haze dies. The road trip sections seem to drag endlessly.

Why did nobody tell me sooner that Nabokov was this good
