the idea of wanting to be mysterious tends to be fedora-ish and strange. is this they way you want to present yourself in general? or to your preferred sexual interests? People tend regard those of this sort as either having something to hide, being eccentric, or being afraid to be themselves. You seem to be scared to be yourself. The ideals of a man becoming oneself when he is living the life of Don Draper are far gone duder. I think you're stuck in the past. The world isn't that way anymore. Although I suppose that depends on your environment. Just be yourself and own it. Trying harder to push yourself away from what societal ideals you consider a falsehood are a waste of time. Hiya /lit/.
I've been trying to write a lot more. I've run into a few issues and I was hoping you guys could give me some tips.

1. No matter what I write, it always sounds too casual, like I'm writing a conversation between The Dude and Maude.
2. Whenever I write, I feel like I don't detail it enough. Whenever I add detail, I feel like my writing is too bloated.
3. Whenever I look back on what I've written, I feel like it's complete garbage, though I can never place exactly what makes it so.
4. Whenever I write, I always have all of these big ideas that should take a novel to express, but I end up expressing them to the best of my ability in only a few (below 30) pages.
