Dagon is basically a must-read, and a great entry-level story for anyone interested in Lovecraft.

I'd recommend Rats in the Walls, The Music of Erich Zann, The Whisperer in Darkness, Nyarlathotep, From Beyond, Cool Air, The Festival, and The Dreams in the Witch House.

From the Dream Saga, I've always been partial to the Cats of Ulthar, Celephaïs, and What the Moon Brings.

At the Mountains of Madness and The Colour Out of Space are by far my favorite stories of his.

I mean sorta but some are more stand alone and some are part of this cycle or that. It's been a long time since I went on an HP kick so part of the problem is that they're kinda blending together for me. Whatever, I gave you a few names there. Uhmm... Herbert West Re animator and Cold Air weren't good at all. I liked The Music of Eric Zahn but I can't even remember if that was HP or one of his bros.
