For me there is clear line between ordinary is surreal experiences .
For examples during some occult ritual i would clearly feel a presence , inner change of emotions , smell etc
Or spiritual insight the best experience i ever had oneness , going beyond the maze beyond time and space and feeling infinity the endless ocean.
Felt literally as if i was made out of light.

There were also experience in half dream states(it didnt feel like a dream it felt more as if i was observing something that happened that has some reality to it) i remember aztecs sacrificing endless piles of bodies and blood and overwhelming sense of dread coming from entities they were sacrificing people to . I felt completely like HP lovecraftian imagine a sense of dread and evil like you never felt ,feeling so small compared to it i cannot describe it to do it justice. They feel quite real and very different from usual dreams its quite bone chilling to experience it.

Also to note i dont do drugs and i meditate my mind is pretty stable and grounded there is clear distinction between mundane and surreal.
