Today’s my eighteenth birthday /Lit/. I’ve lurked since I was younger starting on b to fit now I’m on lit. I like reading even back since elementary. But only this year I’ve started reading literature. Right now I’m reading Book of Disquiet. What do u anons recommend? Something you wished to have read earlier in your life?

Might be a long shot, but is there a book that talks about how the kind of job one does or the subject one reads at university impact one's personality/creativity?
For example, I've never met an engineer or a computer science major that writes well,
So do certain jobs/fields cultivate your creative side while others hinder it? Any book on this subject?

Any tips on how to avoid picturing glowing reviews, fame and success after writing a good passage?
I feel incredibly stupid when I have these, but I can't help having them. These interrupt with my writing afterwards.
