ITT we say how our lives have changed for the better as a result of browsing /lit/.

Without /lit/ I would never have known about Borges, and I would never have known to hunt down the Norman Thomas di Giovanni translations of him. My life has been substantially changed in a positive way because of knowing these two things.

I wrote a ton of poems this year--more than 20, maybe almost 30, I haven't counted exactly. I managed to get three of them published, including getting one published in a fairly interesting magazine that is actually going to pay me for it. Another journal that published one of my poems wound up nominating it for a Pushcart Prize.

So it's been a pretty good year for me.

Pretty good, honestly. I've gotten several poems published this year. In fact, one of the websites that published some of my poems nominated one poem for a Pushcart Prize. I was really surprised and honored that they thought so highly of it.

OP I want to say how much I appreciate you, and all of Barnes & Noble. My hometown is a shitty mid-level city with about 100,000 people in it. We don't have "local bookstores." We have a Golden Books, we have you guys, and that's it. If the local Barnes & Noble closed that would basically be half our bookstores blown away.

So thank you guys for hanging around against all odds and being an oasis, however shitty, of culture in my dumb middlebrow mid-level hometown.
