Hey /lit/, I'm looking to up the quality of my procrastination.

Do you know of any forums, discussion communities, etc that are very high in reading level? Places where I would feel discouraged from posting just because I'm below the level of discussion going on?

Related to any topic really, but ideally things like literature, politics, philosophy, etc

Hey /lit/ I now you guys are the people to ask so I need to know: how do I sound pretentious? I'm writing a joke introduction and I want to sound like a pompous dick. Authors, music, film, hobbies, obscure shit. I'm already pretty patrician but I need some fuel to sound like a total dick.

This is a great general list, and just remove the "general" from that URL to get more specific recommendations. The list is compiled from history grad students and Ph.Ds. I will personally recommend Why the West Rules for Now as well as The Fall of Rome and the End of Civilization

I've heard it bashed in a lot of places without much of a good explanation, so could /lit/ explain to me what is wrong with "Cogito Ergo Sum"?
