I've read how practitioners in Chan/Zen had some idealist conceptions of enlightenment throughout history. I myself noticed this after reading the Infinite Light Sutra that it's a really anime kind of text, really different from other stuff, nothing like Theravada.

I'd like to know if this is present nowadays, is Buddha-nature some supra-essence and enlightenment it's realization for Chen/Zen whereas in other traditions it's closer to nihility, with concepts like sunyata meaning different things
