Do you like writing /lit/ for fun?
What are you using for a creative outlet?
Im just writing satire and saving everything i write on a folder, but not confident enough to make a blog or anything.

Listen, actually Sherlock Holmes wasn't autistic or anything like that. On the contrary, he had a deep understanding of the way the human mind works. He could get into people's mind and know how they thought and that's how he managed to solve most cases. So he's not autistic, just a sociopath. Instead of feeling emotions, he manipulates them to his own profit, which happens to be solving crimes.

The western cannon is either old shit that would be dismissed as fantasy crap for children were it written nowadays (Book of Dead, Epic of Gilgamesh, Bible, Iliad, Odyssey) or boring crap taking place in the 19th and 20th century.

Why do intellectuals hate the plot? Why do they despise writers focusing on the plot and giving it some love? Why do they hold people reading for the plot in contempt?

Why are there swear words?
More generally speaking, why does every language have a set of specific words that people say when they're angry and children are taught not to say? Where does that come from?

Also - but maybe only languages from Western countries are involved in this case, can't tell for moonspeak languages - why do most of these swear words revolve around sex and shit? Why is it bad to say 'fuck' but not 'kill' or 'beat up', while those activities are much more harmful?

I'm taking this discussion to /sci/. I know there is some kind of vendetta between /lit/ and /sci/ since the fall of Deep&Edgy but please, contain your rage in this thread.
