What the fuck story ahead.

>notice a small bookstore near my new house
>go there in the middle of the afternoon
>it is really small, there are tons of books, but everything on top of each other, a real mess
>"We just moved, but make yourself comfortable", said the lady in charge
>she goes out and leaves me alone looking at those books
>enters a very old lady with some package in her hands
>"excuse me boy, can you tell my niece I'm going to the hairdresser down the corner?"
>I notice she looks a lot like the other lady "sure, no problem, I'll look over the place"
>she is almost going
>stops, looks at her package
>she bows and handles me the thing as payment
>there are two meat balls (bulgar wheat balls) and a price thing from the bakery
>I try to give her back, but she insists
>I eat the first one while looking at all those books
>I catch the two ladies discussing in the front of the bookstore "you can't leave the bakery without paying...", says the lady to her senile aunt
>I offer her the other meat ball
>"no, no, eat that right up, kid. It's one of those things of life. As Nietzche said, 'human, all too human'"
>I finish eating
>I'm going to buy a book, but they don't take cards and I had no money
>"I'll get back some other day, then. I like your place. See ya."
>the old lady yells as I'm leaving "Hey!"
>"we like you too, boy!"
>I nod and go

>never again I see the place open, no matter the time of the day I go

What was that all about? Bulgur wheat balls? Nietzche?

I wish I was born in 1900. I think I'm tuned in with the writers of that age, from the technology, from the way of life they had. I wish I've never seen a car as a child. I'm sorry to get all Midnight in Paris over you, but I'm really experiencing some deep nostalgia for what I've never lived, much like a complete dissociation with this time and age. I'm sure that I would be terrified by war and mad at television, but still.

There are other points in history that interests me greatly.

But I'd like to know from you, do you wish you have been born in another time?

What I fucking hate about any religious position is just that.

Either you are a stupid regular christian/buddhist/whatever with a bunch of dogmatic shit in your head, praying for idols, filled with superstition and faggotry.

Or you are knowledgeable about it and actually know what it means to be christian/buddhist/whatever. But then everytime someone says "hey, how was that christmas going, you are christian right?" you say "TECHNICALLY, that's not the date of the birth of Christ because yadda yadda yadda..." and you look like an asshole even though you may be right.

With eastern thinking that's even more shocking. People have a shallow idea on buddhism, taoism, zen and they will think you are an idiot for shaving your head and bowing to a fat guy. But if you know your shit, you'll say "yeah, but that's not what it's about...." and look like a gigantic pain in the ass.
