It's interesting to compare the two in terms of style (Co. Aytch has somewhat exaggerated prose, I think, probably for southern nationalist reasons, Hardtack is very measured). Plus it's always good to get accounts from both sides.
I never expected to be interested in the Civil War, but going through Grant's memoirs with a fine tooth comb for [weird personal historical investigation reasons] really flipped some switch in my brain and I keep reading about it...
Also, nice taste. Patlabor is seriously underrated.
