Philosophy: from the Greek Philosophia - the love of knowledge, is a tradition from which all forms of scientific thought grows.

Over the years, fields such as Natural Philosophy - the study of nature and natural phenomenon, and Moral Philosophy have given birth to the disciplines of science and law respectively.

In the modern age the word "Philosophy" is properly used to describe the study of abstract phenomena and ideas, and is, as ever, a vital component in understanding and communicating ideas about the world.

From philosophy springs political ideology, as we debate how best to live, as well as epistemology and metaphysics - the study of the nature of being and thought, and how perception and cognition operate, and most vitally - the very idea of logic itself - the idea that there are criteria of validity to be filfilled before an action or idea is considered sound, and the establishment of precisely what those criteria are.

You use Philosophy in everyday life, and it's principles and ideas govern your life wholly whether you appreciate it or not.

For that purpose I have included assorted textbooks, as it is not enough to teach ideas and allegories: you must also teach skills.
