What's your opinion of Starship Troopers? I personally thought Heinlein made a convincing case for his from of government. It would at least be interesting to see it implemented somewhere.

Is Starship Troopers considered satire?

I liked the power armour and how everyone had to join up to vote and how it forms a pair with Herbert's Dune to create a thinking man's Warhammer 40K. Are there any other good libertarian sci-fi novels?

If you're a real Mobile Infantryman, you need to read Starship Troopers. For the first time in history, one man has written the great Infantryman Novel on such topics as; Power Armor, War, War and Bugs. If you're a government fearing civilian, you need to read Starship Troopers. This is the the bible on the upcoming Bug War (or whatever the historians end up calling it).

Learn how to make your species safe. Drop the Mobile Infantry. Drop often.

hey /lit/,

/new/fag here. We were just having a discussion on parts of the Heinlein classic Starship Troopers and I thought you guys would have copious amounts of critical reasoning and constructive thoughts to add to the discourse!

I have a ton of dead time at my new job, and I've spent it catching up on literature. I finished 2001: a space odyssey, I'm almost done with Starship Troopers, and I'm still working on Life the Universe and Everything.
Most especially though, Starship Troopers leaves me feeling... hungry? It's the only word I can think of to describe it.
I want more books like these, and especially like starship troopers. I can't get enough of it. Any suggestions?

The idea of an all-powerful government that does not impose racial, social or religious beliefs fascinates me to no end.
