reading faster itself isn't as important as reading better. it is something that you will develop as you read more and more. making a conscious effort of reading faster will only make you later regret not having read and enjoyed those books completely. So just go at your pace. it will take time but gradually it will improve. I'd advise against forcing it.

(I used to read much faster in order to finish a book asap to move on to the next one until i realized how much of it i was missing and couldn't recall)

Just be patient.
