Just getting into literature and this seems to be the most recommended classic for starters, I'm about 100 pages in and it has it's moments but at times it feels dull and continuously repetitive, am I supposed to acquire a taste for it further down the book or am I just not cultured enough to thoroughly enjoy it? Nevertheless I'm going to finish it but for some reason I expected it to be more epic.

What's the point of reading books nowadays? Anything that's in them can be learned from another medium, like a TV show or something. Instead of reading endless pages of text with a ton of it being filler, you could learn from watching movies or shows or playing vidya that displays thr exact same ideas except it's actually fun.

This is just normie capeshit to keep the plebs entertained and pacified because they had nothing else to do while they were sat around in the afternoon sun. The only reason it's held in high esteem is because it's ancient. Other than that, it's pure shit and should be classed alongside children's books, not literature.
