Not to mention: Genji's first real love gets him blueballed as fuck when he tries to pay her a night visit. Then he kills another girl by accident by being too forceful with her and taking her to a witch house.

Did they really have *that* many more civil wars than anywhere else? Plus, just because you're keeping a face it doesn't mean your lord isn't going to do whatever he wants when he gets the chance.

>By calling it literature you can justify every retarded statement that wants to be taken seriously as an analysis on society and the nature of humanity.
Any "retarded statement" is an analysis on the nature of humanity. Sorry, but analysis is not a sacred cow that can never be wrong. If you want scientific rigor go to /sci/; talk about whatever lack of rigor you think these texts have, fine, but don't pretend /lit/ has somehow degraded because it's discussing literature you don't like.

Taoists felt that the Confucian way of virtue through strict discipline and adherence to social convention was not true virtue. True virtue to Taoists was spontaneous and genuine from within a person, and not reliant on social adherence. Taoists felt that their way was "closer to living by nature", an argument you may recognize in some form from the Stoics. lol form from

It can go either way because the practice is incredibly subjective to the individual, but ultimately if one is truly at harmony with their mind, body, and spirit they will be incredibly proactive. If their inner nature is very passive then that is what they will be. The bigger question is how many people have actually practiced "unlearning" to the point that they had no inhibitions to "just be urself". I'm assuming most haven't gotten anywhere close to this stage.

>Romance of the Three Kingdoms
>The three kingdoms aren't actually created until chapter 80
