/lit/, I just started A Feast for Crows and what the flying fuck is this shit?

No Jon, no Bran, only 2 Arya chapters, and thrown in everywhere are a bunch of random characters that appear and then disappear, as if I should give a fuck from their one chapter. No more Dany which is magical but in her place I get that cunt Cersei?

What the fuck is this book? Why is this happening?

My copy of A Feast for Crows is fucked, missing pages 494 to 542 (no they're not torn out, they're just not there).

Can anyone tell me what happens in the missing pages? Last thing that happens is Cersei getting pissing over Osney not yet having bedded Margaery then it skips to a dying Aemon asking Sam to find someone who has heard about the dragons.

Hey /lit/ I'm in a bind. I recently started reading an insane amount in the past few months after around 6 years of nothing. This month alone I've read, Breakfast of Champions, Mother Night, Fight Club, he Riverworld series, all of The Black Company. I just finished all the A Song of Ice and Fire books currently out. I need something to hold me over for a while. I have really bad insomnia and I find I can't sleep unless I read for a few hours nowadays. I already read The Dark Tower series, and a bunch of the Myth Inc (childish but still entertaining) series in middle school. I can't think of any series to devour next. I was thinking of reading Choke or Haunted by Palaniuk but they won't last me 3 days. Any suggestions?

I've read the first three books and they were awesome, but before I got a chance to read AFFC it was heavily spoiled for me. I already know that the following things happen:

Brienne is hung by Catelyn
Arya goes blind
Davos Seaworth gets beheaded
Cersei goes nuts and gets imprisoned for somtehing

Should I even bother reading it now? Or is there some other shit that happens in book 4

People say this is the weakest of the four books, why?

Is this book really that bad compared to the first three? I'm going to start reading ASIF today and I found some pretty bad reviews for this one when I googled the books.

I got to the last 50 pages and just gave up. I realized I dont give a shit nor do I really care about the story anymore. Someone should tell Martin that stories should be told concisely not in the most detailed, drawn out fashion imaginable. (I had skipped some chapters all together because I had no idea who the characters were). When I read his little blurb at the end of the book I almost tore out the page and ate it out of anger.

Just finished this. Did the whole series in a little over a month.

Read the last page, "Tyrion, Jon, Dany, Stannis and Melisandre, Davos Seaworth, and all the characters you love or love to hate will be along next year."
Book published in 2005.
2010. No Dance with Dragons.
FFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!

Arrgh! Another Cersei chapter. They are too long, 90% exposition about what is happening around the kingdom and I hate spending time in that horrible woman's mind.

So just finished Feast of Crows for the first time, can't wait till dance etc. Has there ever been a debate over the possible implications of Pate the maegister in training. At the beginning of the book we see Pate come to an untimely end at the hands of a shadowy stranger, yet this character reemerges on the last page of Feast. Is he of the Faceless Men? If so what drives the House of Black and White? Just some food for thought, we'll see if this goes anywhere.
