Been reading Ze Tian Ji (Way of Choices) lately. Wanted to share my thoughts. It's chinese cultivation WN, and frankly, the novel is at best decent at worst prone to stating the obvious, but it does so with such theatrical aplomb that I can't help but admire it. Fascinating and unusual in that for all it's flaws and deficiencies I kind of want to keep reading because it actually made effort to set up a world filled with people whose motivations whilst relevant to what protag is up to does not revolve around him, which make for far more interesting reading than usual crap you can expect where protag has nice things and people want to take nice things from protag you see in a lot of CN web fiction, which isn't bad in and of itself if done well but much like LitRPG, hell probably most crap that gets published or posted, is too often just routine without any colour to it.

So far I'm on chapter 183, right after the tournament arc of sorts WN has been building to, and most of the novel is focused on cultural, tho that might not be exactly the right way to put it, and social interaction driving forces to pursue their objectives and a protag who has his own stick up the ass. In a way it's very dull, but also, in a way, hillarious. Very unusual novel is all, would recommend checking it out if you like cultivation novels and want something different within the
genre, tho I will repeat that writing isn't actually that good and prone to stating the obvious over and over.

Anyone seen the anime? Apparently there is one, not gonna look for it but curious if it's any good.
