If your dream is to "be an english major" you are exactly the same as those NEETs who live on welfare, except you are a lot more deluded about your life.

Obviously studying english and reading books is enjoyable and easy as fuck. But good luck after college. Enjoy being poor as fuck or a mediocre middle/high school teacher who spends the majority of their time corralling a bunch of little spics into behaving (they won't)...and remember, there will be so few white kids to teach that only the top tier students will get those sweet private school jobs which are for life.

Don't even think of becoming an academic, you can make more money sucking dicks or working in a sweatshop than you can as an adjunct professor.

If you want a silly example, let's imagine two gunslinger in the desert

One of the gunslingers is a strong idealistic one, he likes honor and sees himself as a very rightous man. He would never kill such innocent "man of the state" unless said to do so. He is called Hegel and he is the sheriff

And the other one is called Stirner

Then when both gets to their position, there is a rule that both accept that if one shots before the three seconds then he is a inhumane and a coward, and will be deserted of the state.

They get into their position and what happens? Stirner fucks up the rule and shots Hegel one, two, three times in their groin because why not.

Then he proceeds to piss on him and leave the state giving zero fucks.

That's Stirner for you, he is a bad guy but in a non spooky way.

Help me /lit/, I've got quite an entry level knowledge of Virtue ethics and Egoism but I'm wondering if it would be possible to combine the two?
If it was a person's wish to become Virtuous and then gear it towards the ego then surely it makes sense? Or am I just spooking my self into Oblivion here?
