Is there a point trying to write if youre not naturally gifted? Is there a way to tell if you are or arent?

Im only 18 but Ive tried writing before and it hasn't come very naturally, should I just not bother, only write as an emotional release, and keep it to myself?

Fuck, i might be going through this, i read a couple of pages off of a book, didn't really understand what the fuck the author was trying to say, Now i have a headache and feel stupid. I also couldn't connect some shit about the book to other events of relevance in my life.

>tfw I've read a pitiable amount of books since 2012
>tfw I must have read over 80 % of my books from late 2009 to mid 2012
>tfw I am a plebeian

Books i can remember reading this year:

Something Happened
The Manipulated Man
My Twisted World
Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy
How to lose friends and alienate people
The maltese falcon
Tender is the night
Shoplifting from american apparel
A Confederacy of Dunces

I literally can't remember anything else.

Who /pleb/ here? I'm changing my ways though. I'm going to schedule my time better.

>if I work extremely hard i'll put in a satisfactory amount of hours (and I plan to)

I'm not going to say "humanities is for dumdums xD" but you artsfags should honestly feel extremely lucky that you can make shit up and still pass.
