I don't know what it is about PBD but she makes me absolutely diamonds. Lovely plain girl-next-door look. Would wife.

You pretty much need to chance into being a reader (come from a family of people who like to read a lot) or force yourself into it in later life. The whole idea of sitting down in silence for an hour+ and just... reading some book is very out of fashion. To be completely fair, we shouldn't be too harsh on people. Our entire society is structured around ease and pleasure. Why spend hours silently reading when you have a computer (with access to literally endless entertainment wielded by a series of AIs all designed to addict you) in your pocket? We're only human.

This chap >>19262065 has it right on the nose. I like Kat because she's a cute, normal-looking, girl-next-door kind of girl (who was probably "the shy one" in high school) who just happens to care deeply about something I'm interested in. I don't give a shit about 99% of what she reads, she's not particularly funny, she doesn't make enlightening comments, she doesn't shake her tits in the camera. All this aside, something about her is simply magnetic. She seems like an approachable person. She's the archetypical "hahaha I met my wife in a bookstore" type. It's a pastiche /lit/ meme but it still gets me every time. She also looks/presents really similar to a girl I had a crush on in university. I had a few classes with her but never worked up to talking to her (beyond offering her a piece of paper ONCE). I didn't realize how oneitis-stricken I was until covid shut down my school, I graduated online, and never saw her again. It's more than likely that I'm projecting my feelings for that girl onto Kat the booktuber. Sue me.
