Lying on someone's lap, listening to them read. Heaven.

All I ever meant when denying their validity is, the "hipsters" of old aren't to be found in the nebulous group of 20-somethings of now. What we have is a lumped together bunch with no valid name and no real distinctions to separate them from "normal" people.

Her cadence is off-putting, as you say. The uneven emphasis on numbers, the condescending speed at which she talks that feels like I'm watching a newscast on VLC at 0.5X, and her permanent look of motherly concern.

As I've said already, she is doing the most important work there is--being an independent news source that critically examines stories that would otherwise go untouched by corporate-backed news outlets. And I love her guests. Howard Zinn, Chomsky, Michael Moore, Cornel West, Slavoj Zizek. She surrounds herself with the most brilliant men alive. But I can't really cope with the format of DN in video. 1 Hour of newscast in a world of NYT online, where I can pick and choose what I want to watch, is unbearable to me.

I'm really thankful for their rush transcripts.

Do you go to University in France? I'm surprised at any University that doesn't subscribe fully to JSTOR.

All my best, French-anon:
