Psychedelics all depend on who uses them, in what dosage (not to mention quality) and more importantly why you're taking them. In the hands of an open minded, intelligent person they can help lift the veil of the actual false reality of consciousness by problematizing basic assumptions you've made (and that have been made for you by social normativism) about the nature of reality and existence. Again though, just dropping acid won't make you suddenly profound.
