Sorry to hear about your tough situation, I hope all goes well.
I'm sorry I cannot help you. I learnt meditation with the guidance of another Buddhist from Myanmar and his teacher, a Buddhist monk. Your best bet is a Vipassana meditation camp. This is where my friend who taught me to meditate started.
There are several Vipassana meditation website that serve as a good starting point. BUT meditation without guidance can be dangerous. I would not recommend you try it by yourself. You can get in a very, very dark place. But the fact that you are interested in this is a huge start and you are already miles ahead of 99.999% of the population.
