Predictably shit thread, /lit/. People above who think capitalism is in any way germane to TK's analysis are absolute brainlets, or havent read him or more likely both. The superficial manner in which industrial production is organized is irrelevant, it will have the same or similar results if it is operated by a host of corporations or a single corporation called State. That the former has prospered while the latter has fallen by the wayside only speaks to how fit those systems are on the historical stage. That the liberal west and the communist east have largely over time converged on a system of private enterprise under a strong regulatory regime should tell you something and in fact for our purposes it is best to look at corporations and states as organelles of the same entity. This is a big part of why TK wasted so much time trashing leftists: they are not actually challenging the things he has a problem with. In fact they are the avant-garde of the Nothingness of the System.

His most important ideas are in Anti-Tech Revolution, I wager, and mostly in the first half. The vision he presents is pretty terrifying, really. And not in an 'oh man computers and the matrix this is scary' sort of way but in a 'we ultimately have no control over how our societies evolve and what they will do to us' sort of way.

How much cognitive dissonance do modern Commies have to experience to obfuscate the fact that their entire movement benefits hyper-capitalists and Jewish oligarchs?

Being connected to the system means being rapidly diluted and absorbed into it. A recent example would be the introduction of railroads in rural America (Approx 150 years ago). There is no dispute this radically altered the social fabric of previously isolated communities, basically destroying them.

We can also see the expansion of technological civilisation into "developing" nations, with the ease of global connectivity and relatively low cost of exporting labour. This has completely ruined countries like India for example. Technological civilisation strips all culture it deems not useful and combines all people into an amorphous blob of consumerism to serve the system and its continued acceleration.
