Of course you need God to find meaning. The ENTIRE of modernity can be summed up as one huge ontological crisis. Democracy, communism, socialism, fascism, etc are all attempts at "fixing" the world, a world which has lost all meaning in the death of God. Ever since the French revolution man has been running around in circles trying to "fix" things.... When his inflated ego all along blinded him from the true nature of the crisis. He would need to submit to God as an authority figure, but he refuses. This world doesn't need "fixing". Opposing systems devised by man must all eventually collapse into pointless nothingness, for the only real opposition is between the world of God and the world of men.
