in my case, sometimes i have write it in my native language first, late, translate to english and then search for grammatical errors (most of fear to post some bad shit), using an translator software.

most of the times yes, is a good way to learn new words and make more conjugations between them.
the good thing is, after a few months, you start thinking in english language and everything is pretty easy after that.
