why do goodreads reviewers hate reading?
whenever they find a book where the prose does anything beyond action and dialogue they get bored and annoyed. it's as if they take the "books are like movies in my mind" meme seriously and approach books as screenplays and anything that deviates from the three act structure and does anything besides move the action forward is a failure.
