This could actually happen in corporate hierarchies. If you're not allowed to discriminate between women and transwomen, then any measure designed to bring women into top positions would have to apply to men who identify as women.
Given time, the trannies replace all the women in executive positions. Boards of directors will be half men and half transwomen.

Transwomen have a significantly higher average IQ than the general population (more than a standard deviation). They also tend to be taller and stronger than biological women, which helps not only with sports, but with social dominance. If allowed to compete on the same terms, they will easily push the biological females aside.
Women are not naturally able to compete with men in a free market. They are only able to do so in some societies because special considerations have been made for them. A whole body of HR practices exist specifically to help women, and governments punish discrimination. Corporations and institutions compete to have the highest percentage of women in top jobs.
If transwomen are able to access all of the advantages that have been created to artificially advance women, then they will quickly assume a position of disproportionate power.
