I hate having to respect people who I don't want to respect. I took a class on Hegel and learned a bunch of stuff I agree with, and the people online I talk to say it's not really Hegel etc. I don't give a fuck, you're not a PHD, and gatekeeping about Hegel isn't something I should have to care about. Yet now I'm banned from a server I was doing reading groups on for the rest of summer until almost next year, and it makes me hate the fact that I am lonely, but also lonely because I am surrounded by humans.

Really disgusted by 4chan, I think some people make effort posts but just about every thread is populated by some future school shooter who thinks it's cool to be as bigoted as possible. It's really pathetic, but this is one of the only populated anonymous boards where I can post and not have to worry about the consequences that come with dealing directly with people in a more authoritarian environment where there's a bunch of rules I hate and simultaneously have to follow.

Hi /lit/. I'm in a lot of reading groups, the groups usually only read like 10-20 pages of literature per week. I'm reading like 1-2 pages of Freud's Beyond the Pleasure Principle, 1-2 pages of Husserl's Cartesian Meditations, about 4+ pages of Wrathall's How to Read Heidegger, and 3 pages of Thomas Khun's The Structure of Scientific Revolution, per day. I am sad because my total pages per day usually adds up to about 10 pages per day. But I know a lot of people read upwards of 100 books per year. This is the pace that reading groups I'm in read, but I still see so many people packing in hundreds of books per year. I will never make it in academia at this pace if I went professional.
