So the whole point of it is that both "Mason" and "Dixon" rhyme with "Pynchon"?

What's this "thing" that was waiting for them and infected their souls? Is this about Gnosticism? or maybe a wild kind of violence?

Anyone have a reading guide for this? Might need some help navigating the old timey language

Does anyone have a good ebook for this? I've downloaded several and in each one, some sentences are scattered all over the page. Words are split etc.

Currently reading this and I consider taking it to vacation (Puerto Rico) in two weeks.

I love this book (on page 150 atm), but a poster here wrote how the second part (America) is just full of references. Since I'm extremely interested in history and generally look up a lot of words/references when reading Pynchon (GR is full of notes) I am scared I can't read it calmly on the beach.

WHAT DO? I could also keep on reading Anna Karenina but it's such a slog. Or should I pick another book?

This is a lot easier to read than Gravity's Rainbow.

I enjoy it so much. One of Pynchon's best for sure.

I don't get how it is postmodern apart from 10000 references but still.

I just bought it. Do I need to have some previous knowledge about the history of US? I'm not american, I know about the Mason & Dixon line, the conquer of the west and that the line was used to divid the north and the south. Do I need to know more to apreciate this book?
