All my "worst books" were either regrettable choices in schools or otherwise forced to read. I don't finish bad books.

I always have been amazed at how fast Jeopardy show players can recall answers about some unique and rare history or obscure question that they get questioned on. How is it that they do it? I know if I was on that show I would suck so bad because I don't have as much knowledge as I do. Do I just need to keep reading books about different subjects? Or what do they do? Look up random facts online? Like I understand reading helps you learn about more things in life and history but what else? What makes them have a mind with so much vast information or what do they read

>Harry Potter was a much better series before the fanbase grew as large as it has because of the movies.
Not really. By the time the 4th book was released in 2000, hype was building (enough to the point where GoF had a midnight release and was sold out in many stores), fangirls were already writing fanfics and coming up with wacky theories for the plotholes, people were already starting to dress up as Harry Potter for Halloween, etc. The movies got normalfags into it, but the fandom would be cancer either way.

Is using "all of a sudden" in literature ever acceptable in writing made after elementary school?

Nothing in there really suggests that beyond video games (no Star Wars, one small Batman book, and a few Mac-related things but it's all old, obscure stuff. Certainly not a pseudointellectual with that mess, but at least he's being honest. Who the hell keeps a hotel directory like that?

Because philosophy is a practice of discourse or reading. To try and teach philosophy in any means besides dialogue or treatise is going to be watered down.

Not to mention the secondhand nature of teaching existentialism in a videogame. Why have 30 something game dev parrots explain these concepts to you when the author's works are readily available?

>Interactivity and immersion. You could literally make a game where you would fuck around a 2D enviroment for a while and then all of a sudden jump into 3rd person camera and see what you were doing before were just shadows on a wall.
What a fucking child. The same concept can be easily represented in a chalk-board drawing.

Videogames have no reason to weight themselves down with such nonsense.

is anyone familiar with this book?

it has a single word, a name, as its title, and it's the first-person perspective of a young boy that lives with a trucker. it's really sexually explicit and disturbing, and the main character never actually reveals his name. he mentions "dick cheese" a few times and there's a watersports scene.

the cover is blue and black.
